The story
A corner with a name — from Vernazza to New York
Petrella's Point takes its name from the owner's family — but the name carries a wink to a more famous namesake: Petrella's Point, the little newsstand at the corner of Bowery and Canal Street that became a New York icon. Like its American cousin, this one sits on a strategic corner too: the lane rising to Castello Doria on one side, Piazza Marconi and the harbour a few steps below, and the trailhead for Corniglia just around the bend. The studio has just come out of a thorough renovation by its owner — the same family that has welcomed guests to the Cinque Terre since 1991: new systems, a brand-new bathroom, air conditioning with heat pump, and every practical detail rethought for real comfort.

Staying at Petrella's Point feels like having your own private cabin by the beach: the village swimming spots are steps away, so you can head down for a dip, walk back barefoot-almost, rinse the salt off under a hot shower that never runs cold — the continuous-flow water heater sees to that — and be sitting at a harbour-front table before your hair is dry.
Hikers get the same magic in reverse: come off the Corniglia or Monterosso trail dusty and happy, and find a washing machine and a dryer — a genuine rarity in the villages — waiting to reset your gear for tomorrow. Light packers, this is your place.

Walk straight in from the lane: a kitchen corner set against the old stone wall (induction hob, microwave, Nespresso), a dining area opposite, and a comfortable double sofa bed under the loft — which means guests who prefer to avoid steps entirely can sleep on the ground floor. Smart TV, WiFi, air conditioning and heat pump for every season.

The brand-new bathroom
Completely renovated: a spacious modern bathroom with shower, plus washing machine, dryer and the continuous-flow water heater — hot water for as long as you like, one after another, no waiting.

Petrella's Point is a studio: living, dining and the sofa bed share one open space, with the second double bed up in the loft (reached by wooden steps). The kitchen corner is made for breakfasts and simple meals, not elaborate cooking. And being on one of the most alive corners of Vernazza means exactly that — the cheerful hum of the village is part of the experience, quietening down with the official quiet hours from 10 pm.
It is perfect for couples, solo travellers, hikers, and families of up to four who want the village at the doorstep and step-free access — genuinely one of the easiest homes to reach in all the Cinque Terre. Practical information
Arriving by car
We strongly recommend travelling by train — the station is a short, flat walk away. If you arrive by car, use the public car park above Vernazza (around 1,200 m from the pedestrian area): a shuttle runs to the village entrance, then it is about a 5-minute walk to our concierge office. Advance booking of the car park is strongly recommended (approximate cost: €20/day) — full details are provided after booking confirmation.
Check-in times and evening arrivals
Standard check-in runs from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm with on-site assistance from our team. From 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm, independent self check-in is available with full instructions sent in advance by email (telephone assistance in this slot, where instructions have already been received and confirmed, carries a €50 supplement). After 10:00 pm, no check-in is possible — we strongly advise against late-evening arrivals.
One small dog welcome
One small dog is welcome with a €70 supplement per stay (including allergy cleaning) — select the pet option when booking. House rules: dogs on a lead in all shared areas, no access to beds, sofas or chairs, and owners are responsible for their pet's behaviour and for respecting other guests.
