The easy way to the Cinque Terre
Getting to the beautiful villas that populate the stunning coastline of Cinque Terre is not as difficult as you might think!
We divided this simple guide in 3 parts to make easier for you to schedule your next holiday in Cinque Terre:
1. Which airport
Which airport you choose to fly in and out of depends on (apart from price) how long you plan to visit Italy and where you plan to travel. Consider anyway that Pisa and Genoa are the closest ones. Then, in terms of distances, you will find Florence, but Milan airports, even though farther, have more flights and better train connections.
2. Train, own car or car with driver
Driving own car or travelling by train? Let’s take a quick look at all the possibilities.
Train travelling is cheaper and, when in the Cinque Terre, the best way to move around.
Read also our other article on trains to get all info for the Cinque Terre Regional Train Service.
Car is not necessary to visit the Cinque Terre and we always advise not to drive to the area.
Our roads are narrow, with difficult turns and bends, often requiring you bak off up or down hill and car parking are often full, expensive and never close to the lodgings.
But if you are touring around and rented a car or you are driving your own car, do not worry. There’s a way to survive our roads and car parking, do not worry!
Car with Driver
Hiring a driver it is definitely an amazing way to travel to the Cinque Terre while enjoying the trip and the views on your way. More
